Plans

So many thoughts
In so many colors
Lists and lists
Follow the Order
Sometimes a road block
Or an altered view
But it’s all okay
And it’s all not new

--------------------------------

And then the tide turns
And along comes a bout
And all the old worries
They cancel each other out
And I merrily go with the flow
To see what’s in store
Knowing there’s change
And that there will be more
‘Cos it’s a very bad plan
That isn’t written to accommodate
The twists and the turns
Of fantastic fate!

Just to explain my prev comment - I am not exactly, what you would call, a connoisseur of poetry. No, really! I am not. Sooooo, if u have written one which I liked, then........u get the idea.

Nice poem. Made me think for a long time on how to introduce a reference to water-proof pants in response, but I give up :-)

Thats how the ball usually rolls Aye gabby :) thats why promises break and plans usually take us to another destination... where we think we dont want to do but where we actually are supposed to be... till your next plan.. keep moving

A bad plan it seems
But it wasn't meant to be a plan
That what we know as fate
was how it all began
It was written into each soul
as it began it's journey
It was a road map from start to finish
An invisible one that couldn't diminish
It changes though, with each milestone
much like a treasure hunt for that much coveted bone
Just go with the flow
Like you merrily like to do
This one's a journey
That we all are meant to make
The trick is to not know
What it is that's at stake
-----------
"Sometimes a road block
Or an altered view
But it's all okay
And it's all not new"

vc - Got it, thanks. Can we just say my poems are getting more lucid or something? That way, both the quality of my poems and your general intelligence come out in so much better a light :)

Ash - Yes there seems be a lot of that going on. Modification of plans...I guess that's why those lines jumped out to my blog. Thanks.

Ashok, Anti, Peggy - Thanks! Anti, out of the doldrums yet?

Amit - Changes in my plans...and I din't have time to write a story about it :)

Suhail - Do let me know when it makes it's way to the fromt of your head. I LOVE Urdu verse.

zoheb bhai - it's time to up your crank-factor. missing it, missing it. Oil those wheels now! & thanks!

surinder - Thanks, though I did make it sound easierthan it sometimes is, no?

Pallavi - And yet we don't stop making plans :)

phatichar - So you're telling me it might not all be REALLY okay, huh? We just don't know what could have been...hmmm. Worth a thought. But what we don't know can't really hurt us. And that smile, it can come only if we at least think that we did get a good deal after all...just helps. By the way, the verse on the top, is that yours? Nicely put!

ricercar - Thanks much!

Suhail - Sorry I missed answering your question. I guess you called me "aunty" somewhere in there...warning: I usually leave in a huff right after that. But considering your good-old-visitor status, I'll let it go this one time :). Yes, you can email me. At gratisgab@gmail.com.

umm, hope the fate is fantastic. With the twist and turns, at times it becomes somethign else :-)

Yep, verse belongs to yours truly. No, but what I meant was it's pre-ordained...

"The trick is to not know
What it is that's at stake"

This kinda reflects what you said about not hurting about things unknown..and that's how it's meant to be.

Oh well...

arunima - Yes. You know, I first had whimsical/eccentric there...so I guess I meant fantastic as in "unbelievable" more so than "excellent"...

phatichar - Good, I feel better now. My optimist friend is back :)

pingoo - Am I? I guess I am one now :) Are you a "patron"?

interested - Yes and No. Or are we just working to keep you "interested" ? :) Glad you like it.

Hey Anon, I just googled Publilius Syrus and found out he had several smart things to say and this was in ~100BC!!

Ah...and it takes so long for the likes of me....and yet so much redundancy... It took the dude only 10 words :)
