Mushy Moment

You know you can never really have the old life back when....
....you're feeling hot lounging in a cool martini-bar on NYE, but you do the run-fingers-through-hair move and you suddenly feel dried baby food in a strand.

You know you really don't want the old life back when...
....you tuck said strand behind ear, and recall that the food got there when he reached up with those grubby hands and stroked your hair. In the middle of the feed, in the middle of the screaming and grabbing. Making perfect eye contact, no pulling, just a stroke. And it's warm inside, warmer than any appletini could ever make it.

Gabby - cent per cent relate to you. If anyone mocks at you, SouthWest to Boston and will protest against those ugly mockers.

Hail motherhood!

This is not mushy. Mushy is if you had gone on about this for 20 sentences more.

"No pulling", yes that's a good thing.

Oh this is so sweet :D May you wake up every day with heaps of baby food in your hair.

As for me, I dont need parenthood for all these pleasures. When I stroke my chin, I can feel the dried up mayo and sauce still lingering from my exceptionally droolworthy lunch sandwich and I feel so warm inside ...... and dont get me started on whats in my hair!!

rash - you can do it! go try! (start planning now for next NYE...that's what I do :))

orchid - great, now if only they feed, bathed and clothed themselves, i could have 10 babies!

sanguine - really...orchid's comment made my day (as you can see mushy moment has PASSED!)

stella - thanks! but hey, so even in my mushy moments, i'm not a qualified mushy...is that a good thing now?

zo - but at the end, it's all still about babies. some small, some big.

so sanguine, this is how zo makes himself more "kissable"...by pretending to be a big baby...man, he never gives up, huh? you take care!

Well, if you have enough hair, you could have a snack. :)

Beautifully written, as always.

Gabby, Recollecting...you were always the mushy kinds anyway..if it wasn't baby food, it was something Mr Gabby deposited. Something abt Mary comes to mind.

Yeah!! been reading your posts...sounds like you know now the exciting moments behind mother hood! Notice I separated the mother and the hood. You know like the street gangs. Mother and hood. You mother, he hood!!
I think it all starts in the birth canal from being squeezed out like an infected zit!! They never forget that and by golly are willing to get revenge!! ;-0}

It's working, this motherhood thing and you're doing great!! And remember, THEY will bounce back from all the bumbs and bruises! hehehehe!!
