Scene: A friend’s apartment. The men are missing. They’re doing things pregnant women can’t help them with. Like painting walls and lifting boxes. What were you thinking?

The rest of us in chorus - “No you’re not!”
“Yes I am. Look at you. You’re hardly showing”
*Some reaching over and feeling of belly happens*
“I am showing more than her!”
“But she’s not even at 14 weeks!”
*Pause*
*We all look down at our own bellies*
“Remember when we sucked it in all the time?”
In chorus – “Ooo yeah!!”
“I was usually exhausted by the time I went home”
*Everyone nods understandingly*
“It’s nice to let it all hang out”
“Proudly.”
“In fact, I don’t think this is the baby at all. This is all that was sucked in before”
*Pause*
*We look at her. Admiration mingled with horror*
“Ummm…Maybe not”
You can’t let everything hang out.

Oh golly, brings me back to a time when my best friend and I were pregnant together. Well, not quite three months apart but she was carrying twins and I was as big a house for this being my fourth pregnancy. We got a day out away from our other two children (we both had two other kids a year apart from one another) and we spent the morning in a book store looking for children's program things. But anyway what was really neat is we found one spot we both were very interested in and sat down on the floor to comfortably reach the lower books and began talking about everything that popped up. We were both about 7 months, me in actuality and here in a 7 month size and we both got stuck on the floor! What a sight that must have been to see two beer barreled bellied woman trying to get to a standing positon on all fours and nothing to grab onto to help us get up! :-0} And now you know where Borders and other book stores got the idea to put in chairs, tables and other comfortable places for people to sit!!
Bet you guys look adorable!! :-0} I love looking at pregnant women!
